After skribbl.io: Drawing and Guessing Games on This Site

skribbl.io needs a room full of people. When the room empties, or you want to keep drawing on your own, the site has a shelf of other drawing games. They are not skribbl.io clones. Most of them use a drawn line as a tool to solve a puzzle, and only a few put your drawing in front of other players. This guide sorts them by what the drawing is for, using what each developer says about its own game.

Games where other people judge your drawing

Drawing Contest (The Good Guys) is the closest to skribbl.io. Each round gives you a theme and two minutes to sketch it. Then you rate other players' drawings, and the stars you collect from ratings unlock new shapes to draw with. Nobody guesses a word. Players vote on how well you drew the theme, so here a careful picture is worth more than a fast one.

BrushBattle (BrightSpike) also gives you a word, but the computer does the guessing. The first player whose drawing the computer recognises wins the round. It has a Battle mode against opponents and a Practice mode for setting speed records. The developer notes you often do not need to finish the drawing for it to count, which is the same lesson skribbl.io teaches: draw the shape that gives the word away first.

Draw My Path Obby (emolingo games) is a multiplayer parkour race where you draw the platforms you run on. It uses the keyboard as well as the mouse:

Games where the line solves a puzzle

These are single-player. Your line becomes a wall, a ramp or a path, and physics or logic decides whether it worked.

• Happy Glass (Lion Studios): draw lines that guide water into a glass until it is full. Using fewer lines earns more stars.
• Sugar, Sugar 2 (Bart Bonte): sugar falls from the top of the screen and your lines act as walls and bridges that steer the grains into coffee cups.
• Scribble! (Nitrome): a Lemmings-style game. A group of small characters walks toward the exit and you draw ink lines and shapes to cover pits and block traps. It began as a Flash game and runs in HTML5 through the AwayFL emulator.
• One Line Draw (Unico Studio): finish each pattern in one continuous stroke without lifting or going back over a line. The trick is picking the right starting point.
• Wacky Doodle Fixes (10x10 Games): each picture is missing something, such as a guitar for a dinosaur or a rope for a climber, and you draw it in. The result does not always go the way you expect.

A guessing game with no drawing

Guess the Emojis (Playrea) is the other half of skribbl.io: reading clues instead of making them. You choose the emojis that complete a piece of text, by clicking or tapping your answer. It plays alone and has no timer race against other players.
